Our Summer topic is Around The World. We will be learning about Ancient Greece, countries around the world, and in Science we will be learning about states of matter.
In English we have started reading Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell. We are also continuing to explore sentence and word types, as well as spelling rules.
In Maths we have been learning about multiplication and division with larger numbers, as well as finding the area of rectangular shapes. We then looked at fractions (finding equivalent fractions and adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator) and decimals (tenths and hundredths, rounding and ordering numbers with 2 decimal places). We are now working on money. Please make sure you keep using Mathletics and practise your times tables at home. Tasks will be set on Mathletics that follow on from what we have done in class!
Our whole school focus on reading continues this year so please find the time to read at home at least 3 times a week!
Things to remember:
PE is on Monday and Friday - please ensure kits (indoor and outdoor) are in school all week. They can be taken home at the weekend.
Brass instruments need to be brought into school every week ready for our lessons on Wednesdays.
Spellings will be tested on a Friday and new spellings will be given out the same day.
