PE days: Are on a Monday and Tuesday – children will wear their PE uniform to school on this day.

This term our themes are 'Beach Explorers' and 'Materials'.  Please see the Knowledge Organisers below!

Reading Records are to be used to record books read - (these will be checked daily.) 

It is important to record when your child reads at home and if they have finished a book so it can be changed on the relevant days. Please ensure your child can answer questions about the story and can fully understand it before writing ‘book complete.’ We would rather children have in depth knowledge of how to understand stories, talking about the characters etc, as well as knowing how to read the words. When you read with your child please date, sign and feel free to write a short comment if you would like. Please do remember to record each time your child reads along with the date – even if just a couple of pages – as they are checked and this is recorded daily.

Any letters or notes from the class teacher will be put in the planner. It is therefore important that your child’s planner is brought back into school every day. 😊

Home Learning: Homework to read. There is an expectation across the school that children will read at home at least 4 times a week. This is really important and we will check this weekly. Children will receive a gold star on their Regular Reader bookmark when they have read 4 times per week. The aim is to get onto Silver, then onto to the Gold and Platinum bookmark by the end of the year.
