Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Staff working in Year 3: Mrs Wallin, Mrs Wingate and Mrs Barker.

Remember our Class Dojo page is a really useful place to keep up to date with what's going on in the classroom. :-)

Things to Remember

Planners and reading books are to be brought to school every day.

PE is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so children should attend school in their PE kits on these days.

Spellings and KIRFs are given out and tested on Friday.

Reading records are checked every Friday and a minimum of three signatures is expected. If your child reads a book four times or more per week they get a sticker on their bookmark.

Mathletics

Everyone in Year 3 has a Mathletics login. See Mrs Wallin if you are not sure what yours is. If you can achieve 1000 points in a week, you will earn a bronze certificate. Build up your certificates to earn silver and gold certificates - if you earn a gold, you also get to pick a special prize from our school prize box!

You can also earn a prize and a special Gold Bar Star Award by achieving a gold bar on all the Year 3 activities.

Reading Eggspress

All Year 3 children have their own Reading Eggspress login. Please ask  if you are not sure what yours is. Reading Eggspress is a fun webworld that makes reading real books, improving spelling skills and building reading comprehension highly engaging for kids aged 7–13.

The online reading programme is packed with hundreds of interactive reading activities, online children’s books and literacy games.

There are lots of different activities for you to try out and, by completing them, you can build up tokens to 'buy' special items for your very own avatar. Let us know your favourite activities, so that we can recommend them to everyone in the class...

Times Table Rock Stars!

Knowing our times tables can make learning new methods in maths so much easier! How fast can you get? Everyone in Year 3 has a login for Times Table Rock Stars - ask Mrs Wallin if you don't know yours. The TTRS website is great fun - click here to get started!
