Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!

Welcome to the Year 6 page of our school website. Remember our ClassDojo page is another really useful place to keep up to date with what's going on in the classroom. As is our class Twitter page.

Reading at home

Don't forget that part of your homework is to read at home at least three times per week. If you read 4 or more times, then you will receive a sticker for your Regular Reader Chart. Wouldn't it be great if we could get everybody to Gold this year? Let Mrs Miles know if you have any brilliant books that you would like to recommend to the rest of the class!

Mathletics

Everyone in Year 6 has a Mathletics login. See Mrs Miles if you are not sure what yours is. If you can achieve 1000 points in a week, you will earn a bronze certificate. Build up your certificates to earn silver and gold certificates - if you earn a gold, you also get to pick a special prize from our school prize box!

You can also earn a prize and a special Gold Bar Star Award by achieving a gold bar on all the Year 6 activities.

Reading Eggspress

All Year 6 children have their own Reading Eggspress login. See Mrs Miles if you are not sure what yours is. Reading Eggspress is a fun webworld that makes reading real books, improving spelling skills and building reading comprehension highly engaging for kids aged 7–13.

The online reading programme is packed with hundreds of interactive reading activities, online children’s books and literacy games.

There are lots of different activities for you to try out and by completing them, you can build up tokens to 'buy' special items for your very own avatar.
